This is our Spider Tree. It's HUGE like a monster sized Oak Tree and it has these funny Spider-like growths on it. My Hooman has no idea what it is but told me to ask my friends. Do any of you know what kind of tree this is?
Oh yes, it looks like the images of the Chinese Chestnut Tree. Good thing it is 100-150 feet from the house. It's down near the masses of Sweet Pea, Lilies & Weeping Willow trees. But yummy nuts for me? Now we're talking!!
OOOOhhhh, I know I know I know...... time to make friends with the local extension office guy. I bet he would know what kind of tree it is.
ReplyDeleteMy friend tells me it's a Chinese Chesnut. It gets quite big but when the chesnuts are ripe they are very tasty. She also said, "messy, messy".
